SSPC Partner APC shortlisted in Irish Times InterTradeIreland Innovation Award 2014

SSPC partner APC Ltd have been shortlisted in the BioScience category in the Irish Times InterTradeIreland Innovation Awards. APC Ltd provides streamlined chemical engineering solutions and technologies to large and small pharmaceutical companies to ensure the delivery of robust and scale-independent processes. APC works globally with 8 of the top 10 pharmaceutical and 5 of the top 10 biotechnology companies in R&D, commercialization and manufacturing support.

APC developed its engineering-driven platform technologies ACHIEVETM and BioACHIEVETM to troubleshoot and resolve research and manufacturing issues for chemical and biopharmaceutical compounds, and to improve the design of these entities. These innovative platform technologies reduce the time, costs and risk for the development and supply of new and existing drugs to the market place and the patient.

APC Ltd was co-founded by Prof Brian Glennon and Dr Mark Barrett in 2011 as a spin-out from UCD’s School of Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering, based on over 15 years of research into chemical and bio-process design, optimisation, scale-up and transfer. Brian and Mark, both academic members of the Solid State Synthesis Cluster, retain strong links and support to the SSPC through the industry partner membership of APC Ltd, and Brian through his academic membership.
