Transition Year students enjoyed a week of work experience with the School of Natural Sciences and the SSPC. They worked in a chemistry laboratory and learned about Chemical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Physics, Careers Workshop, an introduction to medicines in my body, Spectroscopy in a suitcase, an Innovation in Science Workshop. Finished with presentations related to the groups challenge. They were involved in hands on activities over the weeek and as a special treat made ice cream from liquid nitrogen.
Recently Louise Lennox, science specialist and co founder of Foodoppi.com featured on the Today Show, using liquid nitrogen, mentioned our very own Sarah Hayes and SSPC Post Doctoral researcher, Denis Lynch, based in University College Cork.
