Guest lecture with Theresa Heffernan, MSD, on data integrity

Theresa Heffernan, Date Integrity Site Lead, MSD Brinny, paid a visit to the Bernal Institute at the University of Limerick on Wednesday, April 11 as guest lecturer on “Introduction to Data Integrity”. Data integrity non-compliance is hot topic at the moment as new data protection regulations (GDPR) directive will come into effect on May 25, 2018.

On Thursday, March 8, International Women’s Day, Synthesis and Solid State Pharmaceutical Centre (SSPC), a Science Foundation Ireland funded Research Centre officially launched WomenInSSPC (WiSSPC). WiSSPC is a female professional development network formed in response to the under representation of females at post-doctorate level and above in SSPC, and focussed on supporting the progression of female researchers in research and academia.

Minister Halligan announces first five Science Foundation Ireland awards for Science Policy

Dublin, 26th February 2018 – Minister for Training, Skills, Innovation, Research and Development, John Halligan TD, announced the first five awards of the Science Foundation Ireland Science Policy Research Programme, with an investment of €2.8 million. The selected research projects comprise studies of: the role of talent and human capital management in national science foundations; the economic and societal impacts of scientific research; the link between scientific knowledge production and technological progress; the peer review process; and the importance of star researchers.

On Thursday, February 22, Professor Michael Zaworotko, Director of Synthesis and Solid State Pharmaceutical Centre (SSPC), announced the (Bio) Pharma Europe working group at BioPharma Ambition 2018. (Bio) Pharma Europe, an extension of Bio (Pharma) Ireland, is an inclusive industry/academia partnership working to create a more innovative environment for pharmaceutical manufacturing in Europe (both small and large molecule).
