Seán Kelly MEP addresses University of Limerick on Ireland’s engagement in Horizon Europe

Seán Kelly is a member of the European Parliament for Ireland South. As a member of Fine Gael, Seán is in the European People’s Party, which is by far the largest and most influential group in the European Parliament. Among the most active MEPs of the Parliament, Seán has been honoured as 2012 MEP of the Year for Research and Innovation, and 2014 MEP of the Year for Digital Agenda. Seán is a former President of the GAA and former Executive Chairman of the Irish Institute of Sport.

The topic of the conversation was on Horizon Europe, the next Research and Innovation EU Framework Programme 2021-2027, will address Global Challenges and Industrial Competitiveness, Open Science and Innovation. MEP Kelly will meet with staff of UL to discuss how Ireland can engage effectively in the Horizon Europe programme. Given the significance of this Programme for Irish universities, this event provides attendees an excellent opportunity to discuss the development of Horizon Europe with a current MEP.
