A team of scientists at the Bernal Institute of Engineering and Chemical Research, based at the University of Limerick campus, has developed a new material that can capture the cancer-causing toxin Benzene from the air. The new material was created by SSPC’s Materials theme lead Professor Michael Zaworotko, Bernal Chair of Crystal Engineering and Science Foundation of Ireland Research Professor at the University of Limerick’s Bernal Institute, and colleagues, with findings published in the acclaimed journal Nature Materials.
