SSPC has worked on executing an effective roadmap fit for the now digital era, a tactic to constructing and preserving online customer loyalty and influence. A major part of such a strategy was to gain followers by developing relationships with SSPC offerings. Through this, the Centre has increased their digital base and business opportunities through driven social media campaigns and printed outputs.
One such campaign SSPC ran is called Six Years In The Making: #lookingback&movingforward, an online campaign that ran prior to launching the new six-year funding period for the Centre from 2019-2025. The last six years have witnessed SSPC mature from a national Research Cluster to a global Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) Research Centre with associated increases in our academic community, industry partnership base, research program diversity, alumni, operating budget, funding diversity and public engagement initiatives. The campaign captured these successes and outcomes of the Centre.
This campaign ran from the day Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) announced the new phase of SSPC on Thursday, May 9, 2019 as part of a €230 million investment in six SFI Research Centres as part of Project Ireland 2040. Outputs followed on for the month to coincide with a two-day showcase held at the University of Limerick on Tuesday, May 28 and Wednesday, May 29, 2019.
The marketing strategy was to ensure content was targeted in a manner that influenced the reputation of the Centre, filled recruitment positions and raised centre profile with constant outputs from May 9th to 28th, 2019.
